I had this idea in my head last year but just could NOT conceptualize how to sketch the pose. So I decided to just kinda play around and BS my way through it which is how we got last year's attempt.

But one of the prompts for this year's OTP Christmas Challenge was mistletoe and it's been a year so I decided to revisit this idea to see if I could do a better job now. It's still not quite what I want it to be, but we seem to be getting somewhere.

i fully agree, because it does 😭 he finally broke away from all the toxicity and abuse tied to kreese and cobra kai, and now he’s just walking right back into it. like, i would’ve much rather they lose with miyagi-do and have johnny actually accept it. find some peace in realizing it’s ok to lose and that it won’t destroy his life this time, because he's got his sons by his side, a newborn baby girl, a beautiful girlfriend, his old nemesis-turned-idk-frenemy & the rest of his team and students. but nope, instead they’re pushing that storyline onto robby again (for the third time.. 🙃 it is NOT robby who needs to learn that lesson) it’s hella frustrating because the show had the perfect opportunity to tell a story about how there's power in moving on, about letting go of something that’s fucked you up for decades. but instead, they’re going with the tired old narrative that you can’t escape your past. you HAVE to go back and let it define you, because apparently, you’ll never succeed without it. even if johnny decides to close down cobra kai after the sekai taikai, it doesn’t undo the message that he needed it to win. that he couldn’t move forward without crawling back to the thing that caused him and others so much pain. it’s just such a garbage message.

honestly hugely funny of Gangnam B-Side to get Ji Changwook on a drama in his incredibly specific niche (fight choreo that looks painful, covered in blood 94% of the time) and give his character absolutely zero plot relevance whatsoever. 10/10

I know some of the harry potter fandom genuinely dislike the fact that Rowling tries to villanize slytherins making harry even describing them to be ugly...and that's terrible and all, but after reading the entire series...

U actually realize that most of the slytherins that harry describes as ugly and troll looking are because most of them are literally cousins, they are a literally somehow related to each other... like most of the pureblood families of the sacred 28(the most pureblood families) look a certain way.

have you watched Lighting Up the Stars 人生大事? its a jttw-adjacent movie but not really a jttw movie in the sense that jttw is a huge motif with the mc being a swk parallel, his friends being swj and zbj parallels, and their adopted kid being a nezha parallel but otherwise not really a movie "about" jttw yknow. its free on youtube with english subs (title: [中]人生大事) so i thought id bring that to your attention :3

Well anon given my lethal weakness to dad Wukong, Li Nezha who's given a decent parental figure, and stories about genuinely sucky people who genuinely try and succeed in doing better by themselves and others yeah I'm going to have to thank you for introducing me to this film. Have to note that of course it's not perfect & that some parts seem kind of overblown, but honestly I found this work to be a really touching piece on death, grief, selfish desires and their consequences, and how we might live with joy with each other even after our loved ones are gone.
